Classification of Materials

Post by Nyan.

Classifying the materials as organic and inorganic

Inorganic:

Rocks and minerals, stone,  metals, ceramic, glass

Organic:

Plants   (wood, paper, textile)

Animals (plastic, animal part)

Some materials contain both organic and inorganic components

Examples:

Ivory, bone, when fresh a combination of inorganic material and protein

Burned wood, if not completely burned, will have a small amount of the original organic component (wood) plus a component that is now mostly inorganic (carbon only)

Prepare a flow chart that would help others put your items into the groups.
