Making a mount for the protection of archaeological pieces during exhibit.

Post by Diman.

Materials Used:

  • Cardboard
  • Aluminum Foil
  • Polyethylene sheet
  • Polyester fabric
  • Polyester fleece
  • Needle
  • Thread

Starting the work.  First we cut the cardboard to fit with the size and shape of the artifacts.  After that we cover it by using polyethylene and aluminum and then we will heat these materials for a while with an iron in order to make them stick to each other.

Card, polyethylene and foil are adhered by ironing.

And after that we pad the mount with fleece in order not to damage  the artifact.  We cover it with fabric sewed to make it more strong and stabilize it.  After that we install the ancient artifacts

The fabric wrapping is sewed tight across the back.
